WE FOUND THE GREMLIN | Bass Boat.
Another day, another water test trying to figure out where this gremlin has been hiding for all these years. Confidence levels are at an all time high with a simple sensor bypass that's hopefully going to fix the problem. We're out at Maroon Dam so it would be silly not to take 17 rods and a handful of lures for a late autumn bass session. So spoiler alert, we find the gremlin and catch a stack of bass with limited tech like back in the day.

This video I'm taking my old Triton TR 175 out for a water test, she's been neglected for way to long and after some recent work on the outboard I'm keen to see how she performs. Over the next few months I'll be throwing a stack of cash at resurrecting my bass boat and covering it with all the latest tech and bling. Hey guys awsome video.. I was wondering I fish at the port of Brisbane boat ramp. I use grub with 1/16 jig head. But haven had any luck. What do you think. Should I use different lures or fish in diffrent spot

The secret truth is me and my mates were catching metre plus threads (and Jew and a big jack) sight fishing all around the CBD around light pools on surface or shallow running lures well before you guys caught on we just kept it quiet for as long as possible lol

Totally enjoyed this video. That was a freak wave in the spit there man, just when you think it won't reach you so better stay safe out there, please wear PFD or any cheap vest. You're right, too many restrictions on places where recreational fishing should be allowed because there's not much people swimming, but not, they'd rather disallow it and forces us fishermen to bend the rules a bit, but I agree with that male Karen, kids might step on hooks there, sometimes we get snagged and can't do anything about it. I would try that spit area sometime, just waiting for my ordered vest to arrive, gotta be safe there. How about in the Main beach, have you tried it there?
Not really enough to be honest mate, I’ve tried there but to no avail.
Got a few good fish despite the place being so sharky, its beautiful up that area.
When we first started doing boys trips up there in 2005 we very rarely got sharked, we got done by grouper more than sharks but now they are absolutely everywhere up there. From the reefs to up the creeks mate it’s crazy.

Over regulations on sharks mate, sharks are basically protected and left unchecked when every other fish is kept in check with size and bag limit regulations. Shark populations are out of control compared to the rest of the oceans biomass and anglers are the first to see the problem unfortunately donating the majority of our catch to them.
@@LiamFitzpatrick yes I get that, it might be a problem until changes are made, those sharks will associate boats with struggling prey and hang around them, I watch a lot of fishing videos and so many others are losing their fish too. Thanks for answering comments, enjoying the videos 🎣
Snell 3 times 4/0 suicide hooks for mullet 2 times 2/0 for herring and biddies on 40lb leader and you won’t miss hookups, I actually pin the tail on mullet with the rear hook leave the middle hanging and put the hook under the chin and out the mouth the hanging hook sits on the outside of the mullets swim bladder … you will stop bait being ripped off and catch more fish guaranteed…
I feel like that’s asking to gut hook fish running that many hooks mate. Typically a quality fish will take that bait head first and hook up and the majority of pulled baits are from non target species like bream. I guess more hooks will help but when a giant eats a bait that big F off 8/0 doesn’t let you down mate.

Never heard of anyone eating them mate, I’m sure you can but my guess is they’re full of bones and not worth the hassle.

Hey mate, awesome video! What pound leader and what length of it do u run to your wire trace and how do you connect the leader to the wire? Also, how do you connect the wire trace to the lure? Thanks mate🎣
Traditionally pro mackerel guys would run straight mono in about 30lb with the same connection I’ll mention in a second. What we were using is braid either 50-80lb with long mono leaders 3-5m long to give some shock absorption from their staggered lunging runs down to a snap clip for quick changes to the lures. The lures have pre rigged single strand wire in 69lb with haywire twisted ends, one connected to the lure the other either left as a loop or connected to a solid ring to connect to the snap clip. Problem’s that can arise from the clip and solid ring is if the fish breaks the surface the connections can pull a bubble trail underwater triggering another mackerel to bite the area the bubbles are coming from. Doesn’t always happen but is a possibility. That’s pretty much it mate, hope that helps.

Neap tides so less current and aim for days under 10 knots, consecutive low wind days will drop the swell and you’ll get conditions like these mate.
